Linguine with Scallops and Spicy Orange Marinara Sauce


The spicy orange marinara sauce really compliments the scallops, making this pasta recipe stand out from the crowd.


2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 pound scallops, or 24 shrimp
or 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1/3 cup orange juice
1/2 teaspoon grated orange rind, orange part only!
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 1/2 cups marinara sauce, 12 oz container
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
9 ounces linguine, cooked, drained, and kept warm


  1. In a large saute pan, heat oil; saute with scallops for 4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper; transfer to the bowl.
  2. Add garlic to pan; cook for 1 minute. Add orange juice, rind and red pepper flakes; simmer until reduced by half.
  3. Add marinara sauce, parsley, and scallops; heat through.
  4. To serve, divide pasta into plates and top each portion with the sauce.
