Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 40-45 minutes
Serve: 4-5 persons


  • 1/2 kg Mutton
  • 4 cup of water
  • 1 cup Onion
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • or add 1 tsp Turmeric
  • or add 1 tsp Khara masala
  • add 1 cup Tomato
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp red Chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • then add 1/2 cup Oil
  • add 1 & cup Split Chickpeas (Boiled)
  • or add 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • And add 1/2 tsp Fenugreek Leaves

For Tarka

  • 4-5 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • 3 Whole red chilies
  • 5-6 Kari Leaves


  1. In a medium, pan adds mutton. Add Water, turmeric, onion, ginger garlic paste, or add whole spices and mix well. Cover the lid and cook for 30-35 minutes on medium flame or until the mutton gets tender.
  2. Remove the stock and keep it aside.
  3. Then add tomato, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, oil, salt and mix well. Cook for 7-8 minutes.
  4. Then add spilled chickpeas, mix well. Add stock and then let it cook for 15 minutes on medium flame. (add water if required)
  5. And then add garam masala, fenugreek leaves, mix it well.
  6. For Tarka fully heat oil in a medium pan, add cumin, whole red chili, Kari leaves and cook for 1-2 minutes.
